Your overall score is irrelevant; all that matters is beating the player standing across from you. Every hole is a battle of its own, with the momentum shifting from shot to shot until someone slams the door shut.
It’s the format behind some of the game’s most dramatic team competitions, and one that Trackman facilities and players have wanted to bring indoors for a long time.
With TPS 10.4, it’s finally here.
Facilities can now create and manage full individual match play tournaments for up to 128 players. Set the field, choose randomized or handicap-based seeding, build the bracket manually if preferred, establish a sign-up period, and let TPS automatically manage the rounds and progression.
Players compete head-to-head in the same bay, with tied matches automatically moving to a playoff until there’s a winner.
That opens up a lot of possibilities.
Season-long tournaments. Facility championships. Showdowns between clubs or simulator centers. Or simply a action-packed day where every match means somebody moves on and somebody goes home.
“Haven’t we all dreamed of being in that final stage of the bracket, playing in the grand finale?” says Jakob Munk, Head of Product, Indoor Golf. “Facilities have been asking for match play, and we’re excited to see what they can do with it.”
That may be the biggest appeal of match play: the bracket gets smaller, the stakes get bigger, and eventually, there’s only one player left standing.
