Te Arai Links South Course, site of the Asia-Pacific Amateur, comes to Trackman
Take on one of Ryan Fox’s favorite holes for a chance to win a Te Arai Links stay-and-play package.
One of the most talked-about courses in modern golf has joined our Virtual Golf 3 course library, and the timing couldn’t be better.
Te Arai Links South Course, on New Zealand's North Island, is the work of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw — joining Bandon Trails, Cabot Cliffs, Sand Valley, and five other Coore & Crenshaw designs already available in Trackman simulators.
Opened in 2022, the South Course has already climbed into the rankings of the world's top 100 courses. Later this month, Te Arai Links will host the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, bringing the region's best amateur golfers to the North Island for the first time since 2017 — and sending the winner on to both the Masters and the Open Championship in 2027.
For Kiwi golfers especially, this is personal. The South Course is the home course of Ryan Fox, the reigning Champion Golfer of the Year.
“It's amazing that the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship is coming to my home course,” Fox said. “Obviously some great opportunities for the amateurs coming down and a really, really good way to showcase New Zealand and one of our iconic courses.”
As for the golf itself, Coore & Crenshaw courses are all built around the same philosophy: work with the land, not against it.
At the South Course, that means 16 holes run along the Pacific, eight of them right on the water, with wide, firm fairways and bold, quirky greens that reward a well-thought-out approach as much as a well-struck one.

“The South Course is just an incredibly fun place to play golf,” said Fox, who holds the course record there — a 60. “The views are spectacular the whole way around and it's got a great variety of holes, some really strong holes, some risk reward holes and just a wonderful selection of par threes. It's well worth playing both virtually and in person.”
Speaking of par threes: Leading into the championship, you can compete in a closest-to-the-pin challenge at one of Fox’s favorite holes, the par-3 17th, for a chance to win a Te Arai Links stay-and-play package.
The South Course at Te Arai Links is now playing in Trackman simulators. Load it up, take your best shot at the 17th, and see what the fuss is about.
