Must-play Courses: May Edition

Three standout tracks — handpicked by our lead course designer — now ready to play in stunning detail.

The Trackman course library is always growing — and with more than 400 venues (and counting) worldwide, it’s easy to overlook a few hidden gems. That’s where we come in.

Each month, Must-Play Courses puts the spotlight on three new or notable additions. For May, we handed the reins to our lead course designer and asked: what’s flying under the radar, and why should it be on your sim playlist?

Here are his picks — along with a few words on what makes each course worthy of a closer look.

The Club at Olde Stone: Southern charm with a twist

Bowling Green, Kentucky, US
Difficulty: 3/5

This is what we mean when we say “hidden gem.”

Tucked into Kentucky’s rolling hills, Olde Stone delivers an inviting blend of shot-making, strategy and scenery — plus a nine-hole short course that’s quietly one of the coolest add-ons in our entire library.

Architect Arthur Hills crafted a layout that rewards precision but won’t punish the average player. Expect a playable, thoughtful round with subtle elevation changes, excellent par 3s, and just enough teeth to keep things interesting.

Why it made the cut:

“Olde Stone feels like it was built for simulator play — the visuals pop, and the short course is pure fun. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to keep playing.”

Don’t skip “The Sink Hole”: That’s the name of the nine-hole short course, and yes, it’s just as fun as it sounds. Play it as a warm-up, a wind-down or the main event.

Black Desert Resort: Lava views and shot variety

Ivins, Utah, US
Difficulty: 4/5

You don’t just play Black Desert — you experience it.

Carved into Utah’s ancient lava fields, this course looks like nowhere else in golf. But there’s substance behind the scenery: wide fairways give players a fighting chance, while elevation shifts and firm, fast greens reward confident shot-making.

It’s also a track with tournament chops — Black Desert hosted a PGA Tour event in 2024 and welcomed the LPGA Tour earlier this month, making it one of the few venues in the U.S. to feature stops from both tours.

Why it made the cut:

“There’s drama in every frame — you can practically feel the terrain. From a design perspective, it’s one of the most visually striking courses we’ve ever added.”

Pro tip:
The contrast between black basalt, red rock and bright green turf makes this one a showstopper in simulator play. Fire it up and prepare for the “wow” factor.

The Concession Golf Club: Where sportsmanship shapes the course

Bradenton, Florida, US
Difficulty: 5/5

The name says it all. This Jack Nicklaus–Tony Jacklin co-design is a tribute to the famous “concession” at the 1969 Ryder Cup — a moment of mutual respect that showed what makes golf more than just a game.

And while the story is heartwarming, the course is anything but soft.

The Concession features aggressive bunkering, undulating greens and demanding approach shots from every angle. It’s a thinker’s course — one that challenges your course management and tempts your shot selection.

Why it made the cut:

“There’s no faking it at The Concession. It forces you to commit to your shots — and punishes hesitation. It’s brutally good golf.”

It may not be a household name, but don’t let that fool you. The Concession is one of Florida’s toughest, most respected layouts — and now it’s yours to take on in Virtual Golf 3.
